Cyber Safety
You will spend many of your high school hours on-line. Be safe and remember that your personal information is not everyone's business.
Do's
Set up privacy when using Social Networking Sites. Know who you are talking to on-line. Think before you post. Consider your friends before posting information about them. Be positive. Use it to make good connections for your future. Don'ts
Don't share information you wouldn't post on a billboard. Don't share photos that you wouldn't want to circulate. Don't participate in cyber bullying. Don't arrange face-to-face meetings with people you meet on-line. Always discuss with guardians. |
Remember
A profile picture is not always real. People can lie about their age and gender. Sometimes FaceBook and Twitter accounts are hacked. Use strong passwords and don't share them. Log out of your accounts. You are building your digital footprint now. Google yourself. |
Cyber-Bullying
What is it?
Using an electronic device to harm another is considered CyberBullying. Someone can send uncomfortable, harassing or threatening messages. These messages can be sent in many forms or at anytime with digital devices. Text messages, IM, posts on social networking sites, memes, videos, and pictures can all be used to bully others. If you experience cyber bullying. Remember to Save it, Report it, and Block that person. If you witness or are a victim of any type of bullying in EPISD, you can report it on-line. |
